Personal Training

Personal Training in Powys & Shropshire

Personal training for people who want expert guidance, a plan that makes sense and someone there to help them get the most from every session.

This may be for you if you’re new to strength training, getting back into exercise, working towards a specific goal or you may simply want to check your technique.

more than counting reps

Personal training should feel personal

You don’t need to already be fit, confident in a gym or know exactly what you’re doing. That’s quite literally what I’m there for.

Every session is adapted to you – your goals, experience, ability, energy levels and what your body is capable of that day.

I want you to work hard, but I’m not interested in making exercise miserable for the sake of it.

Expect good coaching, plenty of encouragement, probably some chatting, and training that has an actual purpose.

Who is PT for?

Personal training might be for you if you want to…

✦ Get stronger and build muscle
✦ Improve your fitness
✦ Feel more confident using weights or gym equipment
✦ Return to exercise after pregnancy or a break
✦ Train safely during pregnancy
✦ Improve your technique
✦ Work towards a particular event or goal
✦ Have some accountability and actually get your sessions done
✦ Learn enough to train confidently on your own

You don’t need a dramatic goal. Wanting to feel stronger, move more and have some time to yourself is a good enough reason to start.

Q&A

The FAQs

Lots! Over the years, I’ve helped people with goals including:

  • Getting stronger and feeling more confident in the gym
  • Improving fitness, mobility and general health
  • Losing weight or changing body composition
  • Building a healthier relationship with food and exercise
  • Improving nutrition without following a restrictive diet
  • Training for running events and other physical challenges
  • Returning to exercise after pregnancy, injury or time away
  • Exercising during pregnancy and adapting training as things change
  • Managing exercise and nutrition around busy jobs, family life and changing routines
  • Building confidence to exercise independently
  • Creating habits they can actually maintain long term

Some clients come to me with a really specific goal. Others simply know they want to feel fitter, stronger, healthier or more like themselves again but aren’t quite sure where to start.

Both are absolutely fine. Part of coaching is working out what you actually want to achieve – and then finding a realistic way to get there.

It ultimately comes down to the level of support you feel you need, your budget and your time. If you’re happy training independently and mainly want a personalised plan, accountability and ongoing support, Online is a great place to start. Plus gives you dedicated 1:1 coaching time each month, while Complete is designed for those wanting the highest level of hands-on support across training, nutrition and lifestyle.

If you’re unsure, book a free discovery call and we can work it out together.

Whatever is going to be most useful to you. This could be personal training, exercise technique, nutrition coaching, a progress review or a Focus Hour on a specific topic – for example, eating out, holidays or building healthier routines.

Sessions can also take place via Zoom if you’d rather sit down and work through a particular goal or challenge. We can decide together how best to use your time each month.

For personal training, Bryn Tanat Hall Gym is my main training location. I also have a private garage gym available for clients who need or would prefer to bring their baby along.

Other 1:1 coaching sessions can take place at an agreed suitable location within approximately 10 miles of the Powys/Shropshire border, or online via Zoom. We’ll discuss what works best during your discovery call.

Your exercise programme is delivered through the Trainerize app, so everything you need is in one place. You’ll be able to see your planned workouts, exercise demonstrations and instructions, record your training and track your progress.

Your programme is completely personalised to you – your goals, experience, available equipment, preferences and, importantly, how much time you realistically have.

I’ll review your progress and adapt your programme as needed, so it isn’t something you’re simply given at the beginning and left to get on with.

You can also use the app to keep in touch with me, ask questions and complete your regular check-ins.

No. Your programme will be designed around the equipment, space and time you actually have available. You could train at home, in a gym or use a mixture of both.

Nutrition coaching is practical and individual to you.

Depending on your package and goals, this may include food diary reviews, personalised recommendations, education and dedicated nutrition coaching.

I don’t believe in unnecessarily restrictive diets or handing everyone the same meal plan. The aim is to help you make changes that are realistic, enjoyable and sustainable while protecting a healthy relationship with food.

Yes. Personalised coaching has an initial two-month minimum commitment. Meaningful change takes time, and this gives us a chance to properly understand what works for you, make adjustments and build some consistency.

After your initial two months, your coaching continues monthly unless you choose to cancel. There’s no expectation that you stay forever – the aim is to give you the knowledge, confidence and habits to eventually need less support, not more.

Yes. If your circumstances change or you decide you’d benefit from a different level of support, we can discuss moving you up or down a package, subject to availability.

My business has naturally evolved to focus mainly on women, particularly since 2026. However, I’ve worked with many men over the years and I’m very happy to work with men through 1:1 coaching and personal training too.

Yes. I’m qualified in pre- and postnatal exercise and your programme will be adapted to your individual circumstances, stage and experience.

Depending on where you are in your pregnancy or recovery, I may recommend seeking appropriate medical or pelvic health support alongside coaching where needed.

Start by booking a free 20-minute discovery call. It’s a relaxed chat about what you’re looking for, what support you might need and whether I’m the right coach for you. There’s no obligation to sign up afterwards.
